ARTWORK AND TRACK LISTING REVEALED FOR LANCE KING'S NEW ALBUM "A MOMENT IN CHIROS" IN STORES 11/11/11
"Etheric Progressive Power Metal from the former voice of PYRAMAZE, BALANCE OF POWER, for fans of REDEMPTION, DREAM THEATER and SYMPHONY X with a nod at greats LED ZEPPELIN"

LANCE KING is world renowned in the underground as a melodic metal vocalist, singing on over 25 worldwide releases over the last 21 years. This fact is impressive in itself, but what is truly special about LANCE is his ability to morph his voice to fit any mood and intensity of a song, he’s proved this over the years by adding a very "special something" to every album he has been a part of.

Said to have the golden touch, LANCE’s voice just seems to connect the dots making head banging metal also into a good song.

On the last day of June, 2011 LANCE decided to invite some of his musical friends to co-write songs with him as he ventured into his first solo album. An act of faith only knowing their work, never working with them before in creating music. In just two months, those involved had created an epic masterpiece, quite a feat indeed based on the quality of this release.

In under three months, “A Moment In Chiros” was mixed and mastered and off to the presses, perhaps the fasted created music in history? This album was meant to be out by 11/11/11 and is destined to stand the test of time.

The album's concept is based on the 11:11 time prompt phenomena happening to over 75 million people around the world, Lance is one of these people, and has dived in deep to find more about what it’s all about. This album is one man's journey as a seeker of truth looking for answers to the world's greatest mysteries.

Lance has chosen "Human Trafficking" (sex slavery), one of the fastest growing criminal activities worldwide as the charitable cause he would like to champion, profits from this album will go to efforts to abolish this slave trade worldwide through an organization called "NOT FOR SALE"!

MOD CON DRUMMER INJURED IN ACCIDENT

Jeff's journey began with a "14 foot slide and 22 foot fall"...in Jeff's words! On Tuesday, June 28th Jeff headed to White Bear Lake to continue the building of a town home. What started as a typical day turned into a day of a lot of pain and anger. Pain because that 25 foot fall off the roof resulted in several broken bones and anger because the diagnosis meant being unable to do what he loves most...drumming with the band!

Jeff was brought to Regions Hospital by ambulance at about 8:00 a.m. He spent several (more like 10 hours) in the ER being examined by various doctors. Orthopedic surgeons tended to the compound fracture to his left leg and the neuro team examined for neck and back injuries. The immediate concerns were spinal injuries and the open wound to the leg. After CT scans, MRIs and X-Rays, the diagnosis was a transverse break of the fibula, a linear fracture of the tibia and broken L2 vertebrae in his spine. We were told Jeff was "extremely" lucky. Luck was not a thought that had crossed any of our minds!! However, after being told the L2 was just below the spinal cord and inches away from paralysis, the word "lucky" had a whole new meaning.

Once the doctors had determined the extent of Jeff's injuries, it was time to come up with a plan of action to begin the healing process. The immediate concern was to close up the wound to prevent infection and fix the broken leg. Jeff was taken to the OR around 6:00 p.m. with several options on the table for fixing the fractures to the leg. The orthopedic surgeon decided it would be best to just stabilize the leg with an external fixator and clean the wound. Jeff went into surgery around 7:00 p.m. About 1.5 hours later, we were updated and told the surgery went well. The surgeon confirmed the decision to wait on fixing the broken bones at a later date was the right decision. The swelling in his joints was extreme and could have perhaps caused more problems down the road had they repaired the broken bones. The repair to the leg is to be continued at a later date...

Recovery from surgery took a little longer than expected as Jeff had problems breathing on his own once the tubes were removed. We are told this is typical for someone who is on a lot of pain medications. Our evening ending at about 2:00 a.m. when Jeff was finally wheeled into his room and we were all able to say good-night.

And so...Jeff's journey began on June 28th.

DESIGN THE NEW BLACK DAYS DOWN LOGO

Hey guys and gals!

So as a lot of you may know, BDD is preparing to come back full force and destroy the music scene yet again. With the new, defined sound we are currently sculpting, we figured we might as well do a face lift with the logo. And since we love you all for backing us, we figured why not get your creative brains involved.

So that being said, we want our new logo to be designed by you. This is going to be the log...o that will be on CDs, tshirts, posters, banners, stickers, Matts drum sticks, guitar picks, press kits, tattoos, EVERYTHING.

Heres all you got to do..

-Come up with your most creative design that is simply stating us, BLACK DAYS DOWN. Simple is key.

-Email your highest resolution file to blackdaysdown@mail.com.

Thats about it.

Send multiple designs if you want. Lets see what you can do. Of course you will be credited and we will get your name out to let everyone know YOU designed it.

Final design will be chosen on April 29th, 2011. Few catches...please make it readable. No death metal designs :). If we decide to go with yours, we can arrange to meet up and get a disc with the highest resolution file. And we mean HI-RES. This logo is going to be blown up onto backdrops that could be as large as 15'x8'.

Cant wait to see what you guys come up with. And we will be seeing you soon ;)

-Black Days Down

FORMER AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE DRUMMER JOINS FILTH GAUGE

Chris Emery shares his thoughts on moving back to the Midwest and joining FILTH GAUGE:

“I can’t wait to get back to Minnesota and start playing gigs with my buddy Jon (SPIDER), and our New band FILTH GAUGE. I’m excited to meet, and get to know the band, hang out, get creative, and get some more songs together with my new family. Moving from Oregon back to the Midwest, my next chapter: – will of course have to be mind blowing, I can’t stand still, however my family is the reason I love today, and still live, they give me strength to keep chasing that next dream. I’m coming home to Indiana to live and care for my amazing mother, and be closer to my dear father in Michigan. So Minnesota, FILTH GAUGE, here I come. Broken heart healed, the world looking clear, rock solid and ready through tuff times, I’m ready to get on stage and tear shit up! Let’s Rock!”

THE RETURN OF BLACK DAYS DOWN

According to their Facebook posts, Black Days Down is back in the practice space rehearsing.  Things are going well and are currently writing new material.  Don't look for a show soon.  Sounds like the current plan is that the performances will begin later this summer.

SCARLET HAZE NEW ALBUM / RECORD DEAL

Dirtbag/ILG/Warner Music Group is proud to announce the signing and debut release of recording artist Scarlet Haze. The band will be hitting the road in cities all over the US this Spring and Summer in support of the effort. Tour dates coming soon. The bands’ new album One Bad Bitch features performances by members of Guns N Roses and Nine Inch Nails. The first single “Reach Down” will be impacting radio on January 11th. The band is comprised of lead vocalist Kat Perkins and touring musicians Eric Warner (guitar), Steve McClurg (bass) and Peter Day Elledge (drums). The band tours extensively and has shared the stage with many national touring artists including Bon Jovi, Candlebox, Saving Abel, Vince Neil, Blackstone Cherry, Rev Theory and Bret Michaels of Poison. Kat’s sultry onstage persona is equally as dangerous as her music. Her attention to stage detail, musicianship, vocal ability and undeniable sexuality, both in attire and music, leave her fans both teased and pleased simultaneously. “Rock, like Scarlet Haze, is a full package,” says Kat, “it’s not just for the ears but the eyes as well – people just want to get off at a live show – and we aim to please!”

Scarlet Haze unleashes a truly fearless brand of hard rock on her Dirtbag/ILG/Warner debut. “Playing it safe is not something I back,” states Scarlet Haze lead singer Kat Perkins, “rock music is supposed to be dangerous.” Indeed, the band’s debut single “Reach Down,” which blends a hard edge melodic hook with sexy self pleasuring, is sonic proof of Scarlet Haze’s assault on safe music. “Reach Down,” says Kat, “is reactive and universal in subject matter because of its truth – everyone does it and that includes females.”

Scarlet Haze has amassed an impressive and loyal fan base, a who’s who of supporting musicians, a top-notch promotion/label team and is co managed by multi-platinum recording artist Disturbed’s bass player John Moyer- via Silver-Tongue Management.

THROW THE FIGHT ANNOUNCE NEW LINEUP / NEW SINGLE JULY 20

(Minneapolis, Minn.) June 22, 2010 - The Minneapolis-based rock / metal act, Throw The Fight, have announced a new lineup and digital single, which will be released July 20. The band will carry on as a six piece and feature three guitarists. New members include Brian “Stitch” Foster, formerly of Lava Records band, Grade 8, on bass, Kevin Beck and Brooks Bohmbach, formerly of Minneapolis metal act, Saving One, on guitars, and Jeff Baustert, brother of original guitarist, Ryan Baustert, on drums.

According to Baustert, “We had some members that couldn’t continue to tour full time so it was time for a change. Not being able to tour simply isn’t an option for us. We belong on the road. It was a mutual decision between the former members and there is no bad blood at all. Having the new guys in the group is great. The vibe is extremely positive and we’re able to take things to another level musically with three guitarists.”

The group’s new single, ‘Bloodshot Eyes,’ is being released July 20 on the heels of the band’s next full length, due out in the fall/winter of 2010. Most recently, the group has been touring in support of their latest release, ‘In Pursuit of Tomorrow,’ which has garnered the band solid national airplay from college and active rock stations along with support slots with today’s biggest acts such as Avenged Sevenfold, Sevendust, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Staind, and more. The track will be available digitally via Itunes, Amazon mp3, Napster, and more.

Singer James Clark adds, “This release is a little foreshadowing of what’s to come on our next album and some new music for our fans to have while we’re staying busy on the road.”

Throw The Fight is the Minneapolis rock / metal band, comprised of James Clark on vocals, Brian Foster on bass, Jeff Baustert on drums, and Ryan Baustert, Kevin Beck, and Brooks Bohmbach on guitars.

The votes have been tallied, the producers, mentors, celebrity judges, and most of all, the public have spoken. The winner of the No Label Needed contest and series presented by Scion is Minnesota’s Iron Thrones. “We’re incredibly excited for this opportunity to become more self-sufficient as far as marketing and recording ourselves, and to get our music in front of tons of new potential fans,” frontman Adam Clemans commented.

Iron Thrones consists of Clemans, guitarist/producer Steve Henningsgard, drummer Peter Clark, and bassist Curtis Parker. Their sound is informed by bands such as Isis, Opeth and Cult of Luna. The band was initially known as Everest, but changed their name in 2008.

As the winners, Iron Thrones will receive a comprehensive tutorial in how to achieve success in the music industry. They’ll be mentored by Shadows Fall, record an EP produced by The Machine Shop’s Will Putney and Machine, have new merch and website designs and much more.

However, the No Label Needed Series is designed for everyone to benefit. Iron Thrones’ victory will be well-documented, with the promotional partners giving advice not just to the band, but to any reader of Metal Insider interested in learning from the best in the business.

“We’ve always been outspoken about our independence and DIY nature,” Iron Thrones guitarist Steve Henningsgard says. “We encourage all bands to take full control of their own careers, and to utilize all of the new technologies and tools available to them.”

Congratulations to Iron Thrones, but also to the other 19 finalists. All of them are great bands worth keeping an eye out for.

PUT YOUR BAND ON A ROCK BAND VIDEO GAME

We wanted to let you guys know about a service we just started offering. In November the game Rock Band is opening its doors to let anyone put their own music into the game.

In the November premier of Rock Band Network, they hope to have at least 200 new songs up and ready for purchase. At Atomic K Records & Productions, we have the skill set to author any song and get it in the proper formatting to be uploaded to Microsoft’s server. Very few people at this point have the software and know how to do this. We think it would be very beneficial for your band/label to be one of the first to feature your songs when the floodgates open. Please feel free to call us at any time to talk about the details.
